During the first weekend in March, nearly 2,000 theatergoers were treated to a magical production of Beauty and the Beast at Mountain Lakes High School. Over 85 students collaborated on stage, behind the scenes, and in the pit to produce a truly remarkable 4-performance run that delighted audience members of all ages. Breaking records for attendance, the show featured a two-story rotating set, professional lighting and sound, and flat-out stunning student performances. This will be a show that people will talk about for years and one which sets a new standard for excellence in the MLHS theater program.

The production was directed by MLHS English and Drama teacher, Christine Penney. You can read more about Ms. Penney in her recent interview with The Mountaineer.
