Empowering Futures: Our Commitment to Education and Opportunity
The MLHS Alumni Scholarship Fund, founded by the MLHS Class of 1969 in 2020, provides scholarships to graduating MLHS seniors to help them with their first-year college expenses. In the last four years combined, sufficient funds have been raised to award thirteen meaningful scholarships. These funds have been provided by donations from MLHS alumni to a 501(c)(3) charitable account maintained by the Mountain Lakes Alumni Association. The essential eligibility requirements for a scholarship are (1) a solid academic record, (2) demonstrable service to others, and (3) compelling financial need.
Based on the success of this program to date, we believe that there is significant potential to expand the amount and number of scholarships each year. The quality of students who have received scholarships thus far is high, and their financial need also is very real.
We would be very grateful if you could make a tax-deductible donation to this Scholarship Fund. The Fund has benefited from some lead sponsors, but we hope that other “angel donors” will come forward too, although any amount would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

“I graduated from MLHS at a time when my family had lost our main source of income. Combined with a merit scholarship that I received, the MLHS Alumni Scholarship allowed me to attend the New Jersey Institute of Technology without putting further financial stress on my parents. Instead of having to pick up a job to cover tuition, I was able to focus on my studies and pursue Cross Country and Track & Field. Thanks to this generous scholarship, I am currently earning my degree, double majoring in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, and I recently received the Elite 18 award from the America East athletic conference for outstanding academic achievement. I know the MLHS Alumni Scholarship has the power to help other talented Mountain Lakes graduates as it did for me, and hope it continues to do just that.”
