At the 2026 Scholarship Ceremony held Tuesday, June 10, at Mountain Lakes High School, four graduating seniors — Joshua Koshy, Zachary Sole, Katelyn Squeglia, and Kristine Squeglia — were honored as this year’s recipients of the Mountain Lakes High School Alumni Scholarship.
The award was presented on behalf of the MLHS Alumni Scholarship Committee by Mountain Lakes High School alumni Ashley Rickert, MLHS ’09, and Jon Sabel, MLHS ’95.
This meaningful scholarship supports graduating MLHS seniors with their first-year college expenses and reflects the continued generosity, commitment, and spirit of the Mountain Lakes alumni community.
About the MLHS Alumni Scholarship Fund
Established in 2020 by the MLHS Class of 1969, the MLHS Alumni Scholarship Fund was created to help graduating Mountain Lakes High School seniors take the next step in their education.
The Fund is maintained by the Mountain Lakes Alumni Association in a 501(c)(3) charitable account and is made possible entirely through donations from alumni and friends of the Mountain Lakes community.
To qualify for the scholarship, students must demonstrate:
- A solid academic record
- A clear commitment to serving others
- Compelling financial need
Since its founding, the MLHS Alumni Scholarship Fund has helped carry forward a proud alumni tradition: supporting the next generation of Lakers as they pursue their college dreams.
Meet the 2026 Recipients
Joshua Koshy
Joshua Koshy will attend Cornell University, where he will continue his academic journey with aspirations of becoming an educator in mathematics. His commitment to learning and service reflects the values this scholarship was created to recognize and support.
Zachary Sole
Zachary Sole will attend the University of South Carolina. Looking ahead, he aspires to become an attorney or a franchise realtor. Zachary’s hard work, perseverance, and ambition reflect the spirit of leadership and promise that the scholarship seeks to honor.
Katelyn Squeglia
Katelyn Squeglia will attend Gettysburg College and plans to pursue a future as a physical therapist. Her dedication to helping others, commitment to learning, and strong sense of purpose make her a deserving recipient of this award.
Kristine Squeglia
Kristine Squeglia will also attend Gettysburg College and aspires to become a pediatrician. Her character, compassion, and focus on serving others embody the purpose of the scholarship and the alumni community’s belief in supporting future generations.
