At the 2025 Scholarship Ceremony held Monday, June 9th, at Mountain Lakes High School, three exceptional seniors — Collin Webb, Sophia Gillen, and Harry Joelsson — were honored as this year’s recipients of the MLHS Alumni Scholarship.

This meaningful award supports graduating MLHS seniors with their first-year college expenses, and it continues to reflect the generosity and spirit of the Mountain Lakes alumni community.

About the MLHS Alumni Scholarship Fund

Established in 2020 by the MLHS Class of 1969, the MLHS Alumni Scholarship Fund has now awarded a total of 20 scholarships to graduating seniors over the last five years. The Fund is maintained by the Mountain Lakes Alumni Association in a 501(c)(3) charitable account and is made possible entirely through donations from alumni.

To qualify for the scholarship, students must demonstrate:

  • A solid academic record

  • A clear commitment to serving others

  • Compelling financial need

The students selected since the program’s inception have all demonstrated exceptional character, leadership, and promise — and their financial need has been very real.

Help Us Grow This Legacy

The MLHS Alumni Scholarship Fund has already made a lasting difference — and with your help, it can do even more. Based on the program’s success and the clear financial need of future graduates, we believe there’s great potential to expand both the amount and number of scholarships awarded each year.

We invite all alumni to consider making a tax-deductible contribution. The Fund has benefited from generous lead donors, but we welcome support at all levels. Every gift — large or small — helps ensure that today’s students can pursue their college dreams with the support of the Laker community behind them.
